The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation announced today that all branches will open one hour earlier at 8:00 am from January 14 to 21 to serve the demand for banknote exchange ahead of Chinese New Year.

HSBC said it will continue to set up express counters to offer ready packs of brand new notes, comprising 100 pieces of HK$20 banknotes and 20 pieces of HK$50 banknotes with a total value of HK$3,000.

For HSBC Jade, and Premier  customers can pre-order banknotes.

A queue management system will be introduced in 13 branches so that the elderly can wait at dedicated seating areas with their tickets instead of lining up at counters, the bank said.
