Ex-finance chief John Tsang hands out lollipopsBusiness | 18 Sep 2019 4:36 pm
Local virtual insurer Bowtie Life Insurance's senior advisor and former Financial Secretary, John Tsang Chun-wah, met with people at the Whampoa Gourmet Place and handed out a total of 6,000 lollipops each with HK$6,000 BowtieCash promo code.
The BowtieCash, by borrowing its homophonic, implies that Hong Kong people can receive “true protection” even if they failed to benefit from the government’s HK$4000 cash handout this year, said the insurer.
The insurer saw a half of its customers under Standard Plan of Voluntary Health Insurance Scheme choose to upgrade to Flexi Plan with more comprehensive protection, according to co-founder and co-chief executive Fred Ngan.
He said that customers especially those aged about 30 and have financial related jobs would like to choose the Flexi Plan of VHIS.
Ngan said that the company leverage data of hospital fees and insurance claims while designing products and enhance coverage of commonly used benefit items.
“We can see that Hong Kong public healthcare services have long been overburdened. Many of us reluctantly suffered from lengthy waiting times at public hospitals when getting sick or injured as they failed to choose insurance products which truly fits and benefits them. I believe that private medical services belong to all Hong Kong people. Thus, to provide Hong Kong people with timely medical treatment and relieve pressure on the public healthcare system, we initiated this candy giveaway campaign with the aim to raise citizen’s awareness towards VHIS, as well as their understanding towards pure protection insurance.” Tsang said.
