Kingsoft books 1.4b yuan loss, online games revenue falls

Kingsoft (3888) chief financial officer, Wu Yuqiang, said the company recorded revenue from online games of 1.17 billion yuan (HK$1.3 billion) during the first half this year, a decline of 3.7 percent from a year ago.

This was because the company postponed the launch of JX Online III mobile game from June to the fourth quarter this year. Also, the launch of JX Online II mobile game was delayed until next year.

The software company announced a net loss of 1.48 billion yuan (HK$1.65 billion) for the first half this year, compared with 219 million yuan net profit for the same period of last year.

Revenue grew 38 percent year-on-year to 3.6 billion yuan. The loss per share were 1.09 yuan.
