China says national security law protects the vast majority

The national security law for Hong Kong punishes very few and protects the vast majority of people, the Chinese Foreign Ministry says.

The legitimate rights and interests of Hong Kong people are safeguarded, the spokesman Wang Wenbin said, after veteran Australian judge James Spigelman resigned from the Court of Final Appeal, state media reported.
