Widespread heavy rain may affect Hong Kong in a couple of hours, according to the Hong Kong Observatory.

The observatory said the areas of thundery showers associated with a trough of low pressure have reached the Pearl River Estuary and will affect the territory in the coming hours, urging members of the public to be on alert.

Heavy showers were forecasted for tonight, along with a few squally thunderstorms. Showers will ease off and there will be sunny intervals during the day tomorrow.

The temperature will range between 24 to 30 degrees for tonight and tomorrow, with moderate southerly winds.
