Australia virus count exceeds 17,900; 46 in intensive care

Australia now has 17,921 coronavirus patients and 208 lives have been lost to the disease caused by the virus.

And 408 people are in hospital. Forty six people are intensive care, and 30 on ventilation.

About 1,500 members of the Australian Defence Force are assisting with the response to coronavirus, Australia said. Of these, 315 are involved in helping the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services in contact tracing.
