The Standard is organising the 2nd Story Writing Competition to encourage Hong Kong primary schools students to compose the most interesting story they can imagine. While developing their creativity at a young age, students will also increase their confidence in expressing themselves and also improve their English writing skills at the same time. The Competition offers awards to individuals who write the best stories in terms of writing quality and completeness. Well-written stories may also be published in Goodies and Junior Standard . This year, we have a new award. The Green Building Awards help to raise students' awareness of the importance of sustainable building development. Students need to write an essay on how a building is designed and built according to high environmental standards and the positive impact it will have on the environment and society.

Eligibility

All local primary schools students (Grade 6 or lower students for international schools)

Individual and School awards

There are three writer awards (Champion, First Runner-Up and Second Runner-Up) and seven fiction awards. The school with the highest number of entries submitted with the 'School Submission Form*' will also be awarded. To win a Green Building Award, students submit one or more stories from the Seven Plots of Fiction categories AND one or more essays on sustainable building development.
