A Bangladeshi known as “Tree Man” for bark-like growths on his body wants his hands amputated.

Abul Bajandar has had 25 operations since 2016 to remove growths from his hands and feet caused by a rare genetic condition.

But Bajandar fled a Dhaka clinic last year after a relapse, and he has returned in a worse condition.

“I cannot bear the pain,” he said. “I want the doctors to cut off my hands so I can get some relief.”

His mother Amina Bibi backed him, saying: “It's a hellish condition.”
