According to the nine-day forecast, winter is finally coming - the mercury is expected to drop to as low as 13 degrees Celsius next Tuesday.
Cooler weather is expected in the coming couple of days due to a northeast monsoon. It will be windy with one or two rain patches over the region.
Under the influence of the replenishment of the monsoon, temperatures over the south China coastal areas will fall further.
It will be cool in the morning and at night in the latter part of this week and early next week before the temperature is forecast to drop to as low as 13 degrees on December 3.
As of 6pm yesterday, the weather was generally fine over southeastern China.
The observatory's scientific officer, He Yu-heung, said pressure over central China has been rising overnight. He said the northeast monsoon was expected to reach the south China coastal areas this morning.
Today will be mainly sunny, with one or two light rain patches.
The minimum temperature will be about 21 degrees in the urban areas, and a few degrees lower in the New Territories. The maximum temperature will be around 26 degrees.
There will be moderate to fresh northeasterly winds, occasionally strong offshore.
Hong Kong adjacent waters will experience northeast force 4 to 5 winds, occasionally force 6.
There will be some haze at first.
Tomorrow will be mainly cloudy, with one or two rain patches in the morning and at night.
There will be bright periods in the afternoon. The temperature will range between 19 to 22 degrees Celsius.

He said the temperature is expected to drop further in the latter part of this week and early next week.
"Air mass from north will expand to the south. It's like waves," he said.
The minimum temperature will be about 17 degrees Celsius from Thursday to Sunday while maximum temperature will be 22 to 24 degrees.
The mercury will drop further to 15 to 21 degrees Celsius on Monday next week. It will be fine and dry, and cool in the morning and at night.
On Tuesday next week, the minimum temperature will be about 13 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature will be around 19 degrees Celsius.
It will also be fine and dry, and rather cool in the morning.
