Crocodile drags boy from boatWorld | AGENCE FRANCE-PRESSE 15 Aug 2019
A 10-year-old boy was killed after being snatched from a boat by a saltwater crocodile in the Philippines.
He was with two older siblings off Balabac in southern Palawan, an area notorious for crocodile confrontations, when he was yanked into the sea.
His father failed to find the boy, and then a fisherman discovered half-eaten remains in a mangrove swamp.
The Philippines' booming development and population have steadily invaded the creatures' habitat.
"Since 2015 we've never had a year with zero croc attacks" in Balabac, said Jovic Pabello, speaking for an agency fighting to conserve the Palawan island group that includes Balabac.
