Less than 24 hours after Versace apologized for T-shirts that were said to defy Beijing's one-China policy, American fashion label Coach and French luxury house Givenchy are facing a backlash from Chinese consumers for similar faux pas.
With pictures circulatingonlineof T-shirts sold by both brands that suggest Hong Kong and Taiwan are countries, mainlanders online are calling for a boycott of the brands.
Coach's brand ambassador, supermodel Liu Wen,saidshe would terminate her relationship with the brand for "seriously hurting Chinese feelings."
Jackson Yee, a boyband star who's an ambassador for Givenchy,saidhe would end his contract too.
Coachsaid the tees were pulled from sale last May after the mistake was identified, adding that it is "deeply sorry for the emotional harm caused to consumers."
