Sports link for extreme test

Central Station | 17 Jul 2019

Sporting enthusiasts and thrill-seekers have been challenged to put their skills to the test in a race that links three extreme sports in one go.

Co-organized by Red Bull and the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, the "Red Bull 3 Peaks Race" will be held on September 21 and 22, combining outrigger canoeing, open-water swimming and trail running.

The course is mainly in the southern part of Hong Kong Island.

Teams of six people - two of whom must be female - will have to swim 50 meters. Then they will paddle to three checkpoints and, upon reaching each one, two members will have to run up the hill and back down to the shore to rejoin their team.

The first day is open to university and corporate teams, while the second will be aimed at "ultra" teams, meaning more experienced outrigger crews from local and overseas clubs.
