CLP Power customers can now pay their electricity bills with a few simple clicks on their mobile phones using AlipayHK, WeChat Pay HK and the Faster Payment System.
More than 2.6 million residential and business customers of the power giant can settle their power bills via the three mobile payment platforms starting yesterday.
All they need to do is to set up an AlipayHK or WeChat Pay HK account and link it to their electricity account to pay their bills with a few taps.
"Mobile payment allows customers to check and settle their electricity bills instantly, and keep track of previous payment records," CLP said.
Those who opt for the Faster Payment System (FPS) can scan the QR code on their bill with the mobile application to make their payment.
AlipayHK, WeChat Pay HK and Bank of China (Hong Kong)'s BoC Pay, which supports FPS, will also launch promotional campaigns to encourage customers to use the new payment platforms for their power bills from next Monday.
