Cop 'dragged hurt protester off ambulance'Central Station | 20 Jun 2019
An injured protester was dragged out of an ambulance by a policeman during last Wednesday's protest against the proposed extradition bill, a paramedic told Roy Tsui Ka-ho, the boss of digital media site 100Most.
The patient was wounded in the body and had difficulty breathing, but an armed officer is said to have insisted on taking him in, Tsui, better known by his pen name Lam Yat-hei, quoted the medic as saying.
The Fire Services Department said that it has received no such report so far and is looking into the incident.
This comes as police commissioner Stephen Lo Wai-chung met with four unions - the Junior Police Officers' Association, Police Inspectors' Association, Overseas Inspectors' Association and Superintendents' Association - yesterday.
The chairman of the first, Lam Chi-wai, said frontline officers will safeguard the city's stability in accordance with the law.
He added that the force used by the police was appropriate.
