A sequel of a "Trump" Cantonese opera will be performed at the Xiqu Centre next year, featuring a battle between United States President Donald Trump and his 2016 election opponent Hillary Clinton.

Li Kui-ming, author of Trump on Show, returned to Hong Kong from the Festival de Cannes, and discussed the third episode of his modern Cantonese opera.

Trump on Show had four shows at the Sunbeam Theatre in April, and had great success in attracting citywide and foreign media attention.

"We have confirmed that we will have shows at the Xiqu Centre in the West Kowloon Cultural District for 14 days, and we will play Mao Zedong, Trump on Show and the third episode, Trump versus Hillary, and this will cause a rarely seen phenomenon in Cantonese opera history," Li said.

Li even made a bold claim that he will produce a "Chinese modern history" series of Cantonese opera starting from the late Qing Dynasty that revolves around Empress Dowager Cixi, leader of the Qing government for 47 years.
