Trump turns to Fox hunting

Donald Trump has criticized Fox News again in a new hint the US president is souring on what has been his favorite media outlet.

He took the conservative network to task for interviewing Democratic presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg, the 37-year-old mayor of South Bend, Indiana.

"Hard to believe Fox News is wasting airtime on Mayor Pete," Trump wrote. "Fox is moving more and more to the losing (wrong) side in covering the Dems."

And Trump again mocked Buttigieg, referring to him as Alfred E Neuman, the goofy cover boy of humor magazine Mad. He also managed another of his spelling errors in writing "Alfred E Newman will never be president."

Trump has been critical of Fox's coverage of candidates in the race for the Democratic nomination that will pit one of them against him in 2020.

Last month he took a swipe at Fox for it hosting a hall meeting with Senator Bernie Sanders.

His ties with the most Trump-friendly TV network hit a rough patch after the departure from his administration of two former big names at Fox: Bill Shine, for nine months White House communications director (Trump's fifth), and former news anchor Heather Nauert, a spokeswoman at the State Department.
