Carl F Bucherer occupies top position among watch manufacturers. But even though it took a leading position with its octagon women's watch caliber in 1919, it continues to strive for excellence.

Until 1968, the Swiss company manufactured about 15,000 precise COSC-certified watches, making it one of the top three Swiss producers of chronometers.

Now its latest production of in-house CFB T3000 tourbillon watch caliber and CFB A1000 peripheral rotor winding system are leading the new trend. Other brands are trying to launch watches with similar concepts because of Carl F Bucherer's inventions.

As usual, the watchmaker presented its best pieces at Baselworld this year. The focus was on the Heritage BiCompax Annual that has a 1950 heritage chronograph appearance, but the latest calendar caliber and panda-style dial. The watch is limited to 888 pieces for its two versions.

The spotlight also fell on Patravi ScubaTec Black Manta, which resembles a manta ray. The brand has long been supporting the Manta Trust. So when it discovered a black manta ray that has only appeared in text, the brand introduced a special-edition watch for the special ocean dweller.
