Bullying gets hard tackle in art projectionCentral Station | 9 May 2019
Be a buddy, not a bully!
That's the message as start-up Community Arts Project, organized by Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation and funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, is tackling bullying by helping the young reflect on their own experience and develop empathy through artist-led visual and performing arts workshops.
Some 10 artists and hundreds of students and teachers participated in creating nine forms of artworks, including A Museum Against Bullying - a series of installation artworks based on real-life cases - and What It Feels Like to be Bullied, a series of interactive installation artworks imitating the sensations of being bullied.
A short film called the No Bully Zone was also created to document bystanders' reactions during incidents of people being bullied.
The works will be exhibited at Youth Square in Chai Wan until May 22, with free guided tours offered on Saturday and Sunday.
