Kid Rock's cheeky bar sign sags

Central Station | 7 Jan 2019

Singer Kid Rock has hit another sour note with people in Nashville, this time over a sign planned for his recently opened bar.

He's trying to attract people with a six-meter-tall neon sign that will feature a giant guitar in which the base of the instrument is carefully shaped like a pair of what are clearly females buttocks.

City authorities approved the necessary aerial encroachment to allow for construction and installation of the sign, and mayor David Briley has now signed into law a city the council resolution that authorizes its raising.

But its approval didn't sit well with several council members, who called the sign tacky and complained that Nashville's Lower Broadway was being steered away from being a place for family fun.

In November, profane comments by the 47-year-old, Michigan-born Kid Rock'that went live on television led to him being stripped of the booking to lead the Nashville Christmas Parade.
