Disneyland to hire 500 additional staffBusiness | Staff Reporter 4 Jan 2019
Hong Kong Disneyland is embarking on a major hiring binge to fill up more than 500 full and part-time posts, including frontline performers, servers in restaurants and hotels and retail sales staff.
It will set up a booth at Metroplaza shopping mall in Kwai Chung on January 10 and 11 to facilitate its recruitment exercise. Part-time staff can earn rates of HK$63 to HK$86 per hour, while those who will opt for full-time employment stand to earn from HK$13,500 to HK$19,500 a month plus transportation subsidy.
Jessica Wong, at Disneyland's park operations, said she is enjoying her first full-time job, especially as the nature of her work enables her to communicate with people from across the world.
Joanne Leung, who performs merchandising work, said she never imagined her dream of landing a job at Disneyland would come true.
"I love kids so I became a tutor. But I want to see kids during their happiest moments. That's why I chose to work here," she said.
Wong and Leung said getting jobs at Disneyland isn't difficult at all contrary to what some people might think. "People with deep passion for Disney and who are equipped with sound language skills would enjoy an edge and would pass job interviews without much of a hitch," they said.
