The 3rd International Film Festival & Awards

Unveiling on the 8th December, the 3rd International Film Festival & AwardsMacao (IFFAM) will present over 50 highly anticipated films alongside 14 local film works under the theme 'A New Avenue to the World of Films' at the Macao Cultural Centre, the Macau Tower Convention and Entertainment Centre and the CinemathequePassion for a stretch of seven days until the 14th December.

This year, the IFFAM Organizing Committee will join hands with Screen International, UK's prestigious film magazine, to present 'New Chinese Cinema' as a new competition section and enrich the festival with a broader selection of Chinese films selected from across the Strait and Malaysia.

A platform for aspiring rising film directors, actors and actresses to deliver their new ideas and potential, the IFFAM allows them to soar and unfold a new avenue in the world of films through its competition section, which will spotlight first and second-time film directors once again this year, with most of the eleven film entries directed by young and new film directors coming from Europe, Central America, South America and Asia, covering a variety of genres and themes.

For those who are looking to experience Macao's unique East-and-West cultural blend, the festival will present movies featuring Macao as their filming location such as "Nobody Nose" and "Empire Hotel" which brims with the color of Macao. There are also a myriad of renowned films which include films premiered or awarded in other major international film festivals of the year such as Golden Lion winner 'Roma', and other extraordinary films such as those by Mainland China's famed actress Yao Chen including 'Caught in the Web', and 'Lost, Found'.

Last but not least, the festival will culminate in the exquisite beauty of Chinese ink painting film 'Shadow' which was screened at the 75th Venice International Film Festival, the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival and the 2018 BFI London Film Festival.
