Chinese securities firm to list on LSEBusiness | Reuters and Avery Chen 5 Dec 2018
Chinese brokerage Huatai Securities plans to list on the London Stock Exchange on December 14 via the Shanghai-London Stock Connect.
Huatai will soon publish a prospectus to issue Global Depositary Receipts, according to a source. Huatai's London listing would mark the launch of a long-awaited cross-border stock connect scheme.
Meanwhile, Shanghai Stock Exchange announced it served China International Capital Corporation (UK) as a record of the GDR cross-border transforming agency in the UK.
Elsewhere, China will likely publish rules for Shanghai's planned "technology innovation board" next January, and will launch the new tech board before June, according to a report. Companies with core technologies can start submitting listing applications as soon as March or April next year, but firms with unproven technologies in traditional industries will be disqualified.
Guotai Junan Securities (2611) expected the initial issue size of the new board will be less than 50 billion yuan(HK$57.08 billion.)
