War of words comes to a head

Central Station | 3 Dec 2018

Andrew To Kwan-hang has apologized to Chapman To Man-chak after hinting that the actor may not have opposed the Communist Party as much as he appeared to.

Localism supporter Chapman has been in a war of words with Andrew over his comments on an online radio program hosted by commentator Simon Lau Sai-leung.

Andrew, the former chairman of the League of Social Democrats, questioned why Chapman was extremely vocal against Beijing but his wife, actress Kristal Tin Yui-nei, continued to receive job opportunities across the border.

Yesterday Andrew set the record straight and insisted that he never accused Chapman of working for the Communist Party behind the scenes.

He also apologized if his remarks appeared to hint at it.

But he lashed out at Chapman over his "threats" against him and Lau, whereby the actor said he would not hesitate to assault them.

It remains to be seen if Chapman will accept Andrew's apology, as he had said that he wouldn't unless Andrew knelt down and apologized.
