A new series that delves into life-changing volunteering experiences is Radio Television Hong Kong's answer to the Audit Commission criticizing it for its low ratings.
The first episode of the series was shown on RTHK TV31 last night and was done in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department in celebration of its 60th anniversary and the 20th anniversary of the department's Volunteer Movement scheme.
The program shows how people's volunteering helped to transform their mindsets.
It aims to give viewers a look at life from a different angle and depicts the benefits of volunteering.
At a ceremony yesterday, the department revealed that popular singer Hins Cheung King-hin will become its volunteer ambassador next year, succeeding swimmer Stephanie Au Hoi-shun.
The department's volunteer scheme has been highly successful as more than 1.8 million people have signed up to be part of the campaign.
