Central Station | Charlotte Luo 26 Nov 2018

Visitors to Government House yesterday were not put off by the rain and were able to get souvenir chops featuring the official residence of the chief executive.

Souvenir chops were available at several places at Government House, which was open to the public from 10am to 5pm.

Despite the rain and lower temperatures, citizens who brought papers were able to get the special stamp.

The Antiquities and Monuments Office also ran guided tours, in which visitors heard about the building's history and architectural features.

Display boards and QR codes were set up along the visitors' route to give details of the history, architecture and important moments of Government House.

Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor met citizens in the garden at noon. She greeted the crowd and shook hands with some citizens. She also watched musical performances by the Hong Kong Police Band, students and citizens.
