Hong Kong journalists were on the same lines as counterparts from The Times, The Economist, the British Broadcasting Corp and Agence France-Presse and others during a European trip.
Organized by the Journalism Education Foundation and sponsored by the Jockey Club, a 19-strong delegation visited London, Paris and Berlin during a two-week trip. Members included journalists from print publications and broadcasters plus people who lecture in journalism at local colleges and representatives of the Information Services Department.
Visits were made to 16 media organizations for insights on operations and also to talk with editors about China-Europe relations - a current hot topic.
The delegation also stopped by Beijing embassies in London, Paris and Berlin, the German Bundestag and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Offices in London and Berlin.
Foundation chairman Eric Chan Cho-biu said the trip offered eye-opening experiences, including how to adapt in the changing times of how information is being spread around.
