Ugly reality of life and death bites

Zsa Zsa's days in the limelight are over before she had had a chance to enjoy them. In fact, it's all lights out because the copiously drooling English bulldog named the World's Ugliest Dog just weeks ago has died.

The nine-year-old canine died in her sleep early on Tuesday, owner Megan Brainard of Anoka, Minnesota, said.

"I'm in shock," Brainard told CNN sister network HLN. "I hadn't even processed her winning and fame."

Zsa Zsa won the ugliness title at a contest last month in Petaluma, California.

Brainard remarked after that barking success that the dog slobbered a lot as she had trouble keeping her tongue in her mouth. That was because Zsa Zsa's upper teeth were almost horizontal, and she also had a pronounced underbite.
