It was a night of firsts at the Hong Kong Film Awards, as Louis Koo Tin-lok and Teresa Mo Shun-kwan scooped the top acting awards.
It was third time lucky for both, as they had each been nominated twice before, but hadn't won.
Koo secured his award for his performance in Paradox, in which he played a policeman who lost both his wife and daughter.
As for Mo, she took home her coveted prize for her outstanding role in Tomorrow is Another Day, portraying a mother who suffers in silence with an autistic son and a cheating husband.
Ling Man-lung, who played Mo's son in the movie, won the Best New Actor award.
The movie, Our Time Will Come, and its director, Ann Hui On-wah, won for Best Film and Best Director respectively.
Upon receiving the Best Actor award, Koo said: "I have been thinking about how Hongkongers can produce good Hong Kong movies."
