What do you want people to think of when you waft by? Love? Money?
Perfumes can trigger olfactory memories so pick one that makes a statement of you want to convey.
Tiffany's new perfume, with its heart of iris, smells exactly like how you'd expect its jewelry to smell like.
As for Miss Dior, master perfumer Francois Demachy set out to make a "fragrance that smells like love." He said: " The composition has to be exciting and stirring, wild, and yet accessible. I sculpted its florals facet, emphasizing the power of its roses in order to make it sensual and suggestive. I also doted it with lively and exuberant notes, so that it would be instantly expressive and attractive. Lastly, I eliminated any dark, earthy notes. It had to burst forth like love at first sight."
