It's carnival time in the park

Central Station | 10 Nov 2017

Famous cartoon characters such as Willy Wonka, the Enormous Crocodile and George's bad-tempered Granny will highlight a night parade as the annual Standard Chartered Arts in the Park carnival makes its triumphant return to Causeway Bay this weekend.

The SAR's largest outdoor youth arts festival takes place Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm in Victoria Park, with a theme inspired by British children's book writer Roald Dahl.

More than 600 artists and students will showcase characters from Dahl's stories, including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, and James and the Giant Peach.

The Saturday night parade between 8.30pm and 9.30pm will proceed from Hysan Avenue along Lee Garden Road to Kai Chiu Road.

The carnival in Victoria Park comprises illuminated artworks, stage performances, and art stalls.
