Plastic's not fantastic

Filling up at home can save both money and the enviroment. And you can do it stylishly with The Lion Rock Press' No Plastic Mm Goi stainless steel eco bottle (HK$250) and tumbler with straw (HK$225).

The double-wall insulated, BPA-free 500ml bottle and 450ml tumbler not only reduce waste, but also support the Plastic Ocean Foundation - 10 percent will go to the local charity. The interiors are made of kitchen-grade stainless steel while a tight silicone seal prevents leaks and spills.

The Lion Rock Press founder Claire Yates was inspired to create the eco containers by the documentary A Plastic Ocean.

She said: "Every year, worldwide, we produce more than 300 million tons of plastic. Half of this is for single use, and around eight million tons of it ends up in our oceans. This is the fundamental reason for producing our eco bottle and tumbler. It is my hope that buying these bottles or tumblers will help save thousands of single-use plastic bottles and cups from ending up in landfills and oceans."
