Chong Hing changes CEO

Chong Hing Bank (1111) has announced that Margaret Leung Ko May-yee will step down from her role as chief executive today.

She will remain as executive director, deputy chairwoman and managing director to focus on supervising strategies. Leung was appointed chief executive in May.

Zong Jianxin, who has been executive director, deputy managing director and alternate chief executive, takes over as CEO.

The 51-year-old has been head of China business since May 2015. He has also been executive director of the bank's holding company, Yuexiu Financial Holdings, since November 2015.

In changes elsewhere, CNOOC (0883) said Yang Hua, executive director and chairman of the mainland crude oil producer, has been redesignated as a non-executive director with effect from yesterday. Yang has also resigned as chief executive but remains as chairman.

Yuan Guangyu has been appointed chief executive. CNOOC also announced that Xu Keqiang has been appointed executive director and president.

At Agricultural Bank, Lou Wenlong has stepped down as executive director and executive vice president. Lou is said to have no disagreement with the bank.
