Hong Kong insurance companies are looking to upgrade their health-care services as AIA Hong Kong partners with Medix, a global medical management company, to provide local insured members with personal medical care management services.
The service will see AIA-insured members with serious diseases have their medical cases reviewed by a Medix team to offer a third-party independent opinion.
Jacky Chan Wing-shing, chief executive of AIA Hong Kong and Macau, said the new service ensures customers receive a high standard of personal medical care and customers will not be alone when dealing with a serious medical condition and making difficult choices. The personal medical case management will provide full-day services for a minimum period of three months, offer third-party independent opinions and gather collective multidisciplinary opinions for discussion with attending doctors.
Medix Group president Sigal Atzmon said Medix provides customers with objective advice, accessibility and implementation of quality medical care.
Medix is a global medical management firm that comprises 300 in-house specialists and a gnetwork of over 3,000 specialists.
The service will be free of charge in the first year until July 2017 for eligible members with the selected medical insurance plans.
