Victor Li Tzar-kuoi, pictured, is the latest in his family to ease fears that their considerable resources would be invested elsewhere.
"Hong Kong is where I was born and bred. It is my home and will always occupy a special corner in my heart," the elder son of Li Ka-shing told Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce's upcoming Bulletin magazine.
Li, who is heir-apparent to his father's empire, may have been responding to fears that the ascension of Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying may cause the family to sink the bulk of their investments elsewhere.
He also shares his dad's views on property, the environment, the hardworking spirit of Hongkongers and personal interests.
