What is a seafood feast without Hong Kong's famous Bei Fung Tong (typhoon shelter-style) fried crab? The garlic- laden dish is a must at every seafood restaurant worth its salt.

The robust crab dish may take pride of place at Fisherman's Dinner buffet at Island Pacific Hotel's Cafe (Tel: 2131-5908), but that is only for starters. The cornucopia of delights from the deep blue sea include braised prawn with bean vermicelli and aromatic satay sauce as well as scrambled egg with shark's fin, Chinese ham and bean sprouts in chicken broth.

To spice things up, there is fried clams with chilis and black bean sauce and deepfried prawns with spicy salt.

Japanese food lovers will find themselves gorging on sushi and sashimi prepared with the freshest ingredients.

Take things down a notch with a wide range of congees, cooked to order, and soups with watercress and pork.

The three-hour dinner buffet, which is on until the end of October, begins at 6.30pm every day, including weekends.

It costs HK$278 for adults and HK$168 for children. The price includes unlimited soft drinks, juices, beer and table wine.

All credit-card holders can enjoy a 30 percent discount.
