Sony has unveiled a new green television. The new Bravia WE5 series full HD LCD TV is integrated with several eco-friendly features to conserve energy at every possible juncture. The Hot Cathode Fluorescent Lamp backlight panel uses up to 40 percent less energy when users are watching TV. The intelligent Presence Sensor function can sense if a viewer has left the room and temporarily turn off the picture, halving power consumption.

Ambient Light Sensor technology adjusts picture settings based on the viewing environment for optimal brightness and conserve energy. Meanwhile, a pre-set Eco setting allows users to watch TV at minimal energy consumption.

The Bravia WE5 aeries also has an energy-saving switch conveniently located that lets you shut off the power without having to unplug the AC cord from the mains.
