Swatch Group, one of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of contemporary watches, has opened six retail stores at The Venetian Macao- Resort-Hotel seeking to gain a firm foothold in Macau.

The move, the group hopes, will help it increase its presence in the mainland.

The Swatch Group carries quality brands including Blancpain, Glashutte Original, Jaquet Droz, Omega, Rado, Swatch and Tissot, will be available at The Venetian Macao shopping arcade.

The opening kicked off with an eye- dotting ceremony for good luck in the presence of brand presidents and Kevin Rollenhagen of The Swatch Group, Greater China.

This was followed by a Lion Dance performance at St Marks Square.

The evening ended with a gala dinner for 200 guests at the Grand Ballroom of The Venetian Macao, followed by a watch show.
