Comic-book guru Ma Wing-shing and retired actress Chingmy Yau Suk-ching were among the alleged victims of a bank manager who pleaded guilty to stealing more than HK$100 million from the accounts of 13 clients.
Former Hang Seng Bank manager Cheuk Sau-yee, 31, admitted 17 theft charges at District Court yesterday.
The offenses occurred between February last year and June this year, with Ma allegedly losing HK$22.19 million and Yau - wife of I.T fashion chain boss Shum Ka-wai - HK$22.64 million.
Judge Joseph Yau Chi-lap adjourned the case until a week today to allow the prosecution more time to present details of the alleged illicit transactions.

Cheuk was remanded in custody.
In April, Cheuk's boyfriend and alleged accomplice, Jason Chan Chun- sing, 31, pleaded not guilty to one count of money laundering. He is scheduled for a five-day trial beginning July 31.
In September last year, Hang Seng Bank filed a writ to High Court to claim from Chan the money lost from the clients' accounts.
According to the writ, Cheuk allegedly used the money to invest in the stock market and financial derivatives but suffered huge losses.
