Sex and the City star out in support of gay marriage
Thursday, June 04, 2009
Sex and the City actress Cynthia Nixon is lobbying New York state lawmakers to legalize same-sex marriage, and says she hopes to marry her partner.
Nixon is engaged to Christine Marinoni. Holding up her diamond engagement ring in Albany on Tuesday, she said she is going to marry next summer and hopes to do it in New York.
The 43-year-old has two children from her relationship with photographer Danny Mozes.
A same-sex marriage bill backed by Governor David Paterson has passed the state Assembly. Senate Democratic majority leader Malcolm Smith is trying to muster enough votes to pass it. ASSOCIATED PRESS
