The principal of a Sheung Shui Primary school has denied three counts of indecently assaulting the mother of a student three times on the same day.

The offenses allegedly took place inside a classroom and in the school playground.

Luk Lee-ki, 57, has been suspended from duty as principal at Sheung Shui Yuk Yin School pending the outcome of the case.

Luk arrived at Fan Ling Magistrate's Court clutching a envelope of papers and accompanied by two men.

He appeared calm and in good spirits. He pleaded not guilty in a firm voice before acting principal magistrate Woo Huey-fang.

The school principal did not shy away from cameras when he left the building.

The prosecution has alleged Luk touched the woman, identified as X, twice inside a primary four classroom at the school on September 18. A third assault allegedly happened in the school playground. The prosecution will call five witnesses.

Luk has not given a witness statement nor indicated how many witnesses he will call.

The prosecution did not object to bail, but asked that Luk be prohibited from directly or indirectly harassing witnesses.

Defense counsel said Luk had already been suspended and that it was unlikely he could harass any witness.

Bail was set at HK$5,000 and the case adjourned to January 13.
