Jackie and Sammi top list

ACTOR Jackie Chan and Cantopop diva Sammi Cheng were the highest-paid

male and female stars in the Hong Kong entertainment industry last

year, according to a magazine rich list.

The pair, who earned HK$500 million and HK$48.4 million respectively,

topped the list, published in Capital's latest edition.

While Chan made big bucks some HK$450 million from his contracts

to make Rush Hour 2 and Highbinders, his income from wine, fashion,

catering and property investment was reported as HK$50 million.

Cheng, who brought home a number of music awards at the end of last

year, reportedly made HK$13.5 million from films, HK$15 million from

albums, HK$11.5 million in advertising revenue from SKII skin care and

Mona Lisa bridal service, and raked in another HK$8.4 million from

eight concerts.

Other stars on the list and their main sources of income last year:

Jet Li: HK$190 million (starred in three movies, including The One);

Andy Lau: HK$91 million (15 Summer Fiesta Live concerts, four albums,

four movies and various advertising revenue, including from Baleno);

Stephen Chiau: HK$70 million (directed and starred in Shaolin Soccer,

advertising revenue including San Miguel);

Kelly Chen: HK$29.5 million (17 concerts in various mainland cities,

North America and Malaysia);

Andy Hui: HK$20 million (two albums and eight concerts, and

advertising income from Toblerone);

Joey Yung: HK$18.5 million (advertising revenue from H2O skin-care

products, Compass Visa card and Nikon camera; four albums and three

concerts)

Eason Chan: HK$18.5 million (Eason & Friends and The Easy Ride

concert)

Nicholas Tse: HK$18 million (eight concerts and two albums]Michael
