A 29-year-old man has been arrested for conning girls into sending him their nude photos and claiming he would hire them as models.
The man, Kwan, is also said to have sexually assaulted a 15-year-old after luring her to a guesthouse in Kwun Tong by offering her HK$4,000 to pose naked.
He is expected to be charged with indecent assault and luring girls under 16 to produce pornography.
Police say the suspect was previously involved in a similar case, jailed for 18 months and released a year ago.
This time, the suspect is said to have disguised himself as a woman on two mobile social network apps, "WeChat" and "iAround."
Kwan said "she" was recruiting models.
The girls who showed interest were asked to send in their nude photos.
The 15-year-old sent in her photos to be told that an overseas client liked what he saw.
Police say Kwan then arranged a meeting with her in Kwun Tong, claiming a professional photographer would be there to meet her.
On February 21, the girl arrived at the guesthouse where Kwan is said to have pretended to be the professional photographer.
She was persuaded to strip and then sexually assaulted.
The girl reported the incident to the police two days later, claiming she was not given the agreed amount.
Police traced the suspect based on the information provided by the teenager.
On Monday night, Kwan was arrested at the home he shares with his mother, who is separated, on the Choi Fook Estate in Ngau Tau Kok.
A laptop computer and three mobile phones were seized.
Yesterday, police took Kwan to a flat said to belong to his father on Tung Wui Estate and seized a desktop computer.
Naked photos of five other girls were allegedly found on a mobile phone belonging to Kwan.
Police are yet to find the photos taken of the girl in Kwun Tong. STAFF REPORTER
