(08-21 10:24)

Brazil's Socialist party named popular environmentalist Marina Silva their presidential candidate Wednesday, replacing her late running mate Eduardo Campos after his death in a plane crash last week.
"We had the immense luck to have her as a substitute," party president Roberto Amaral told a press conference, adding Silva -- who could beat incumbent Dilma Rousseff in the October elections, according to the latest poll -- was chosen unanimously by party leaders. --AFP
