Hang Seng extends win streak to eight

Hong Kong stocks ended higher for an eighth straight session Thursday, adding 0.10 percent, as investors welcomed data showing the US economy grew much more than expected in the second quarter of the year.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 24.64 points to 24,756.85 on turnover of HK$84.01 billion, AFP reports.
In China the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index jumped 0.93 percent, or 20.32 points, to 2,201.56 on turnover of 132.4 billion yuan.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, rose 0.82 percent, or 9.45 points, to 1,160.01 on turnover of 142.4 billion yuan.
