Pro-Beijing group files complaints over donation by Jimmy Lai
(07-24 15:28)

A pro-Beijing group has filed a complaint to the ICAC, demanding an investigation into pan-democratic lawmakers allegedly pocketing donations without declaring them.
According to leaked files, media mogul Jimmy Lai Chee-ying has donated more than HK$10 million to pan-democrats since last year.
Some of the lawmakers have denied receiving the money, while others say they took the donations on behalf of their political parties or other organizations.
The complaint to the ICAC, from the group the Voice of Loving Hong Kong, accuses the legislators of misconduct in public office and other offenses.
A Tuen Mun district councilor, Chan Wan-sang from the DAB, has also filed a similar complaint to the ICAC.
Meanwhile, the vice-chairwoman of LegCo's committee on members' interests, Emily Lau Wai-hing, says a decision's yet to be made on whether the committee should investigate the matter:
The council's rules require legislators to disclose benefits over a certain amount.
Lau said it's not clear if the donations concerned breached any rules, as she has not been given the relevant information. --RTHK
