Signal No.1 remains in force
(07-17 11:03)

The standby signal number 1 remains in force as Typhoon Rammasun heads towards western Guangdong and Hainan.
The signal was issued at 11.40 last night.
With the storm some distance away from Hong Kong, the chance of the Observatory issuing the strong wind signal number 3 this morning isn't high.
The powerful typhoon killed at least 20 people in the Philippines. --RTHK
