(Tennis) Wimbledon Day 10 updates
(07-03 13:12)

- Safarova plays 2011 champion Kvitova in the first all-lefty Grand Slam semi-final in 22 years. The last time two left-handers played in a Grand Slam semi was at Wimbledon in 1992, when Monica Seles beat Martina Navratilova in three sets. Seles went on to lose in the final to Steffi Graf
- Kvitova won her only Grand Slam title so far at Wimbledon in 2011, she has been to the quarter-finals or better every year since 2010, and she's won 24 of her last 27 matches.
- Halep will be number two in the world if she beats Bouchard.
- Bouchard will become the highest-ranked Canadian ever if she wins. By winning her quarter-final, she is projected to rise to No.8 next week, not just making her Top 10 debut but also tying Carling Bassett-Seguso for highest-ranked Canadian. If she reaches the final -- which would make her Canada's first Grand Slam finalist -- she's projected to go to No.7.
- Bouchard is the first player to reach the semi-finals of the first three Grand Slams since 2009. The last player to reach the semi-finals of the first three Grand Slams of the year was Dinara Safina in 2009. --AFP
