Footballers, manager charged for alleged match-fixing

Two former football players of Happy Valley Athletic Association have been charged for match fixing, with a former deputy team manager of the association accused of illegal betting.
Happy Valley former assistant coach cum football player Fan Weijun, 35, and Sasa Mus, 27, also a former football player of the same club, have each been charged with conspiracy to defraud.
Hinson Leung, 26, former deputy football team manager of the club, has been charged with betting with a bookmaker. They are set to appear in the Eastern Magistracy on Friday for plea.
Fan is alleged to have conspired together with other persons to defraud the club and the Hong Kong Football Association between December 7 and 8, 2013 by dishonestly not playing his best abilities in the a football match between the club and the Sun Pegasus Football Club held on December 8, 2013.
Mus is alleged to have conspired together with Leung, Liao Siwei and other persons to defraud the Happy Valley and the HKFA on November 30, 2013 by dishonestly not playing his best abilities in a league match between the Happy Valley and the Southern District Football Club held on the same day.
Leung is alleged to have placed bets on the football match between the club and the Sun Hei Sports Club held on January 5, 2014 through a bookmaking website with a bookmaker.
