Nikkei ends higher

Tokyo stocks closed 0.29 percent higher on Wednesday, tracking a lead from Wall Street where the Dow and S&P 500 powered to new record finishes.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index added 43.77 points to 15,369.97, while the Topix index of all first-section shares gained 0.37 percent, or 4.70 points, to 1,280.78. --AFP
