NPC member allays autonomy paper fears
(06-12 16:32)

A local member of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, Rita Fan, says she doesn't believe the white paper issued by the State Council will undermine Hong Kong's autonomy.
The paper stressed that the SAR's high degree of autonomy was subject to the authority of the central government, causing some pan-democrats to accuse Beijing of trying to scare people from taking part in an unofficial referendum on political reform later this month.
However, Mrs Fan disagreed that this was the intention.--RTHK
